Big Dots For Your Glock
| July 30, 2010 | 1:39 pm | Glock | No comments

I just put another pair of XS Big Dots on for a retired cop yesterday, and I am continually impressed with the response they generate.  Lately it seems we have been doing a pile of revolver work, but the last three weeks have seen Big Dots going on Glocks like crazy.  If you have been considering them, let me tell you why you might want to get them installed on your Glock.

The Big Dots are as fast as any sight that is out there.  They make a great IDPA sight or carry gun sight because of how quickly they can be acquired.  Put the dot where you want the impact to be.

The other group of people who love them are the guys who are wearing bifocals.  As we all know, sights get harder to see when our vision up close gets blurry.  Big Dots don’t rely on you to get the sights leveled across the top, and they don’t require you to get equal amounts of light on either side of the front sight.  Dot the i and let it roll.

And believe me they are plenty accurate.  Check out the following video for a little proof.

glock 30 sf

No doubt you are familiar with our affection for the Glock pistol by now.  If you have any questions you need to know that we think they are great.  In the midst of their greatness, there is one issue that has been problematic for some shooters; namely that the large caliber (45ACP and 10mm) Glocks didn’t fit smaller hands.

That has now been remedied with the SF line of Glocks.  The new Glock 30 SF may be one of the best new additions to the Glock line in history.  It holds 10 rounds, is very concealable and manages the 45′s recoil very well.

In a recent range test, we found the 30 SF to be one of the few new guns out on the market that really got us excited.  It was easy to shoot quickly and accurately.   Running through some IDPA drills, the gun performed great.

The most surprising thing was recoil.  You would think the lighter frame would make recoil an issue, but it was not any more noticeable than a full size 1911.  There are many thoughts on why this phenomenon exists including the idea that the polymer frame flexes in your hand to lessen the blow.  I am no scientist, but I can tell you it was pleasant.

About 3 months ago we did a custom job on a 30 SF in which we did our carry trigger job and added XS 24/7 sights.  As you know, these sights are hot right now.  People just can’t get enough.  Our customer reported loving the combo of the Glock 30 SF paired with the XS sights.

If you are looking for a new defensive handgun and have been put off by the original 30′s size, we highly encourage you to check out the 30 SF.  We think you will be pleasantly surprised.

xs-sights

Many of you are by now familiar with the XS sighting system.  These sights are unique because they are not a typical notch and post system.  The XS sights are like dotting the “i” in school.  All you have to do is place the front sight dot on the line in the rear sight.  The rear sight features a shallow “V” that helps get everything aligned.

They come in two basic variations; a standard front dot and a Big Dot.  We have been putting a lot of these on lately and are more and more impressed with them as we continue to test them.  If your eyesight gives you trouble you would want to try the Big Dot version.  If that isn’t a problem for you yet, you may prefer the standard dot.

Either way you are getting one of the fastest sights available today, and don’t believe any of the hype that they are inaccurate.  At 10 yards we have no trouble keeping all shots in a 3″ bullseye.  If you get a chance, check them out.  We don’t think you will be disappointed.
