MCC is trying to get into the new decade with a few changes. Since our inception 4 years ago, we have accepted payment by check or money order. This was done to simply things for us, and because when we started we didn’t even have a website since 100% of our business came from the local area where we were located.
Today that has almost completely changed. We now have 90% of our business coming from competitive shooters, persons concerned with personal defense and general shooters from around the country. In an effort to simply things for you we have added the beginnings of an online store. You can now pay for the MCC Glock Extended Mag Release online as well as the XS Big Dot SP101 sights so many of you have been asking for.
By the end of the week we hope to have a dedicated page for an online store at the top of the site. Please be patient as we get started on this process of modernization and let us know if you experience any problems.
As always thanks so much for reading and participating in this community of shooters. We appreciate all of our great customers.
It’s always interesting to see what is going on over the last 30 days. Here is what most of you are interested in:
- The Taurus Judge. What an unbelievable following this gun has attracted in such a small amount of time.
- XS sights for the Ruger SP101. Many of you saw our SP Package and have inquired about having your gun converted.
- Glock trigger jobs, MCC extensions, Mag extensions. Is there anyone left that doesn’t have a Glock? It seems like everyone has one and they all want them modified.
Some of this is surprising. Certainly Taurus was not the only company to ever offer a revolver chambered fro the .410, but they sure are a hot topic out on the web. I have sent enough 45 Long Colt down range to be a big fan of the cartridge, but truthfully I never thought the Judge would be this popular.
I must confess that I never knew there was such a following for the SP101. Perhaps it’s not really a wide following, but we seem to be in the small group of gunsmiths that are actually working on them. The addition of the XS sights just makes that gun’s cool factor climb even higher than it already was a factory gun.
The Glock accessory that is the most popular right now is the MCC extended mag release. We have several requests every week for this modification. Interesting how the smallest things can make your shooting better.
It will be interesting to see what the next 30 days hold. I expect to see an increase in the used market as people get ready for hunting season and Christmas. There are going to be a lot of people who have decided they don’t really need the gun they bought last November. If you stay ready you might get a good deal. If you are wanting to sell, check out our Wanted page and trade us something for work.
We have been waiting for a while to be able to announce the MCC Custom SP 101 package, and we are finally ready to start filling orders. As with all of our most popular packages this one was customer driven. We were asked to take a stock SP 101 and turn it into a custom CCW piece that is also a beautiful piece to add to any collection.

We started out with an SP 101 DAO in .357 Magnum. To be sure this has to be one of the best platforms around for any of the small revolvers made to today. It has a heft to it that balances well and makes shooting .357 Mag a lot easier than some of the other offerings that are available today.
We addressed several issues for our customer. To start with we bead blasted the frame to give it a great matte finish. This certainly makes this gun better suited for a CCW application than the factory polished stainless. We then performed a complete trigger job which included polishing every plunger and all bearing surfaces. We followed that with a mirror polish of the trigger itself.
The final touches were a set of Badger grips provided by the customer, and a XS 24/7 tritium night sight to replace the factory front sight. From the photos you can tell that this gun is definitely not the same.

This gun is not only a looker, but it is a serious piece of hardware. At the range it shot great. The new sight made target acquisition an easy thing. The grips helped to control the gun during rapid fire.
While it will shoot .357 Mag just fine, I prefer .38 special in this gun because recoil is not noticeable at all. This gun makes much more sense for a lady or a vehicle gun than a S&W airlite for that reason alone. It is definitely heavier so it might not serve as well for a BUG gun, but it is so much more fun to shoot than most BUG guns I have ever shot.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us by email. We are now accepting orders for the MCC SP101 package that includes everything mentioned above. Price for this package is $325.

An item not getting a lot of attention is the XS sights line of Big Dots for the Ruger SP101. We would have been unaware of this sight, but a customer brought it to our attention. In fact, when we called a distributor about it, they said XS didn’t make a sight for the SP101. However, after talking to XS, we were told that it was the same sight that is made for the S&W J-frame models.
When our package arrived from the distributor it was clearly marked for the S&W J-frame and the Ruger SP101. We will putting pictures up in a few weeks of the SP101 customization, but in the meantime if you are interested in adding a tritium big dot to your J-frame or SP101, contact us. The sight runs about $65.
