Ruger SP 101
This SP 101 started life as a DAO, polished stainless, .357 magnum. It has Badger grips added to it, the frame has been bead blasted to give it a beautiful matte finish, the trigger has been lightened and polished to a mirror finish, all plungers were polished, and a XS 24/7 Dot was added for a front sight.

DAO Conversion/Bobbed Hammer Modification
Can you send me info JUST on the XS sight and bobbed hammer modification for the SP101.357 mag. I was considering laser sights, but have given thought to making my position known on a dark night by merely griping the gun and therefore making myself a target. I had night sights on an older Ruger Security Six and liked them. This enhances my ability to make a good shot in low light but does not reveal my location like a laser sight does. Does the XS sight require NEW holsters to fit the gun or can one use existing holsters? If it requires NEW holsters, i would consider the lower profile metro sights you mention. Dan
Dan, The XS sights are great. I actually prefer them to the Meprolight for the SP 101. I have not had any trouble with them fitting existing holsters. Perhaps someone who has had this problem could way in for us. I don’t think it is a tactical disadvantage to have the sight. I carried night sights on all my duty guns and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. The bobbed hammer mod is great especially if you are looking at this for a CCW gun. It streamlines everything.
